Essential outdoor workers are exposed to hot and humid conditions and are at risk of heat-related illness. Micro climate conditions can vary by field, and employers have a duty to protect workers from recognized serious hazards in the workplace, including heat-related hazards. To help employers and worksite supervisors prepare and implement hot weather plans, the eVineyard application includes a Heat Index feature, providing live local conditions and record these for future reference. Vinduino sensor stations can now support an optional temperature and relative humidity sensor to provide highly accurate Heat Index data.
