Together with the University of California and the Rancho California Water District, Vinduino organized an irrigation workshop for vineyard owners and vineyard managers in Temecula on August 22.
Our featured speaker, Daniele Zaccaria PhD, is a well-respected irrigation expert and he covered a wide range of topics specific to vineyards. We consider ourselves lucky to had him make the trip all the way from UC Davis to educate us here locally.
Presentation topics:
- Irrigation design and installation considerations
- Estimation of crop water use (ET) and crop coefficients (Kc)
- Effects of canopy size (various trellis), slope and aspects on water use
- Irrigation management strategies
- Methods and tools for irrigation scheduling
- Minimizing heat damages
- Available financial incentives for irrigation modernization
After the presentation we scheduled time for answering questions.
